This guillotine came to Vietnam in the early 20th century,
and it was kept in the big jail on Lagrandière street (now Ly Tu Trong St.)

The last person who was executed by this guillotine was Mr Hoang Le Kha, a member of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnamese workers Party in Tay Ninh province.
This last execution took place in 1960.
